Spacecom satellite capacity enables DRS to provide SATCOM solutions for US DoD

Israel-based satellite operator Spacecom announced that it received two satellite capacity contracts from DRS Technical Services. DRS will be leasing C-band capacity from Amos-5 and Ku-band capacity from Amos-3. The military satellite communications provider will then use the leased satellite capacity to enable two-way communications capabilities for the Europe-stationed US Armed Forces that are getting ready to deploy to the Middle East.

Mr. Drew Marks, Vice President of Sales for Spacecom, released a statement regarding the Company’s longstanding partnership with DRS Technical Services to provide powerful and dependable satellite capacity for the Department of Defense.

Spacecom’s Amos-3 and Amos-5 platforms enable two-way satellite communications for US companies operating in the Middle East and Europe. Amos-3 occupies the 4 degrees West orbital slot while Amos 5 can be found at 17 degrees East.

A prime contractor of the US government, DRS Technical Services supplies integrated communication services to field users who need global fixed satellite service (FSS) bandwidth. DRS also offers related business and enterprise satellite-based services and applications. These services are enabled by satellite capacity obtained from operators like Spacecom.
